FOR ME, 2020 has been the best year so far.

If I have the chance to tell those to other people out there, they might disagree and chuckle like literally, "No way." Most of us labeled 2020 as the worst year ever, full of fear, anger, sadness, and quandary. And, oh, right, I totally agree. But I woke up one morning like, "No. I am living the best year of my life." I know 2020 has made a lot of us worrying about what to do the next day. Large numbers of people died due to the virus, typhoons engulfed large areas pitilessly, grim crimes happened, and unemployed and penniless people. But I remember living in a belief that when you're stuck in the middle of a dark tunnel, you just got to look at the end of it where there's light, it's just there. And that's when reality strikes us. We're only staying in the darkness without thinking that the light is just there, and all we need to do is to walk a little bit more to make it over.

As we experience worse things, the more we learn from them. That is why 2020 taught us a lot without realizing it. We learned to value money and our little time and take care of ourselves better. It gave us the chance to stay with our family or (if not) to know and reflect on ourselves. Well, if you haven't learned one of those things yet, it's never too late to start. 2020 gave me a lot of chances to learn new things and know myself more. I realized that with the pandemic or not, I shouldn't be a potato. I knew I must take steps, no matter how small it is. And it might not be visible today, I know it will be sooner. With plenty of hours staying at home, I filled myself with a bucket of wisdom until I acknowledged 2020 as the best year in disguised. However, I never thank 2020 for the pandemic, anger, fear, sadness, and quandary, rather I thank the year 2020 for giving us the chance to learn and reflect.

The power of gratitude is that you'll forget the negativities. It raises your frequency and gives you the chance to grow by opening you up to new lessons. Well, 2021 has come, but the lessons I learned from 2020 will never be forgotten.
